I just want to share some pictures of the newest member of my tank. A fantastic fish with awesome personality.

A Xanthichthys auromarginatus male, 4 inches.

If your pictures colors are true, that is the most gorgeous male Blue-chin that I have ever seen.

Wow great looking guy I wish mine would come out for picture but if he even sees me from 50 feet away he runs. I just received a pair about 2 weeks ago and everyone looks great... How long you had the guy?

Colors are definetly true. Prettiest Blue Throat I've seen to:beer:

Edit: Only had it for three days so far. The first two days it was kinda shy but now it's out swimming and showing off. Bought it from my LFS for 155$

if i may ask, should a blue throat be always pair in a tank? will a male turn into female if his all alone in the tank? sorry for the derail of the topic.

No, you can keep only one if you want. I bought a "wife" for my Blue throat male. She got a tough welcome from her "husband".






As far as I know these fish are not hermaphrodites. So the females can not change into males.
