Xenia adrift

A friend of mine gently "toothbrushed" a xenia stalk off his rock and gave it to me. I lost physical control of it after acclimation and now it is resting in some gentle flow up against some rubble rock at the bottom rear of my tank. It had opened up this morning.

I am curious to see if this xenia can save itself and climb to the light! Does anyone think it can do it?

Same here...I can see it attaching itself to the ruble...but climbing? Never heard of xenia doing that...

Lay a piece of coral rubble atop it, pinning it to the sand. By morning it will probably have attached.

I remember that when I had my 12g nano, a, orange ricordia got loose between the back rockwork to never be seen again. I would be able to see just a glimmer of fluorescent orange with the actinis only. It was in such a place that I couldnt get to, so I left it to its demise.
It wasn't worth it to me to tear down the rock going ricordia hunting and risk the natural balance of the tank.

Just my crazy story for ya!
