I suspect this one will be deemed commercial before long. :D

Steph you are posting this in the wrong forum, most of on this side of the fence give stuff away, try seasl I hear they are loaded with people who don't know better.

Yeah, we're poor over here....

I couldn't even afford a glass tank. mine's made out of cardboard. I think I have evaporation problems or a leak somewhere. I constantly find myself topping off the tank. :(

Nice shot at SEASL. Best point I have ever seen made on RC. Especially since it is all the same people on both boards. Almost everything posted is on both pages. Impressive wit though.

I guess I was one that didn't know any better than as well. I Bought a bunch of this for $65.00 from someone when they were very very small, now I can't sell them for even $10.00 for good size stalks now that they have grown.

Most the LFS I have been to lately don't sell anything under $20.00, except gatewayaquatics, and I have't seen any xenia there lately, though I think Chad might have bought some from the same guy I got these from so he might have some now.

Most LFS stores in the area will give you 12$ store credit per stalk if they are nice sizes.

GatewayAquatics is selling these for $15.00 per stalk so mine is cheaper for $10.00 per stalk. I'm in no hurry to sell them so I will keep them and trade them in later when I get too many if noone wants to buy any. If anyone is interested however, I have some available for 10.00 per stalk. Won't find it cheaper at an LFS. If peopl have the means to ju give their corals away that is good wish Iwould have found someon willing to just give me these when I was looking, but I would like to make some of the money back that I orginally spent on them since I didn't get them for free

Gotta love the forum here....

A new person trying to set-up a tank by selling a few aquacultured corals and 1 current and 1 past SLASH board member have nothing better then negative things to say about it.

Very impressive.....

Truth is most of us do give frags away, that is why we are hobbyists and not commercial entities. This isn't about profit it is about sharing enthusiasm for the hobby. It takes nothing special to grow frags for sale but to give or trade them is how the hobby will grow. If you are doing this for monetary gain you are not a hobbyist

If my comments offended the commercial members of seasl I can't help that, I call it as I see it.

Steph, if you got taken advantage of by someone I am truly sorry. If you are new at this you may want to ask about things before you buy them. There is plenty of help here.

Beldt's gave me $20 for a frag of it one time. But it was actually large enough to be considered a colony. It was massive.

This has nothing to do with me being a commercial member of anything. I have never sold a aquacultured live stock or my services to anyone in this hobby. I have helped out many people with livestock, live rock, equipment, and my labor.

The statement was about the need people feel to be negative about others and groups to to make themselves feel better.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a board member of SLASH made thousands of dollars to support his tanks by selling Xenia all over the St Louis area.

Which part of this is aimed at the commercial people in seasl.... it appears more like its aimed at the seasl membership in general not commercial members. And no im not a member of either group just my two cents....

The membership of both groups is the pretty much the same, the differences are in how the clubs are run. It wasn't my intention to insult any members of either club, I am sorry.

Yes Hobbes that was once true but this hobby is evolving in a better direction than taking people's money as evident by your own generosity. Let's keep this back to the issue of taking advantage of a newbie which should never have happened.

Again if my comments towards seasl offended anyone, I apologize. I was once a member there too.
