i have xenia growing like mad. my first responce to you is to throw away the red sea kits! imo their way off

Again I would like to state that if you (for any reason) wish to multiply/propogate your pompom xenia or salvage a meltdown.....cutting off the top is an actual husbandry technigue. They have used this at Garf for some time now, and it does work.

i know now its not aptaisia looks like a baby rba
the green thing is still a mystery to me(it has 5 arms (or tentacles)
and bright green (maybee 1 polyp survived)
might be a zoo polyp(who knows)

If the pics that Chuck posted are what you have, get it out or kill it ASAP! They indeed are like aiptasia on steroids. They don't grow quite as fast, but they are harder to kill and fewer things eat them.

The one plus they have over aiptasia is that they are meatier and easier to scrape off of rocks.

They don't look as bad either. I had one, it was kind of cute. Adam and Steven identified it for me, and I was at first hesitant to kill the cute little guy.... I woke up and looked at him a few days later, and he was three. I took no chances. The rock was out of the tank, and I took a chisel and removed all three of his heads and the entire area of rock he was attached to.

Next time your in elemers, look at the coral tank. The rock is covered with mojanos, they are out of control.

on the rock the mojano is is a small green thing looks like a tube coming out the bottom of it
5 or 6 small rays or tentacles and the ends are feathered kinda kile a fern leaf and bright green

how should i kill it? i dont have a chisel ,will a screwdriver work?
what about joes juice?

Take the rock out of the tank. Put it on the porch, remove as much of the bugger as you can by scraping it off. Make sure you don't "smear" it onto other parts of the rock. Onc most of it is gone, use hte screwdriver to gouge out the aree where it once was. A paper towel will help keep the screwdriver clean and the "shavings" from fallin on the rest of the rock. I then put a bit of straight kalk paste on the area.

Am I nuts? Maybe but I sure don't take chances with thins like that... if in doubt, call hazmat! After I saw those "cute" mojanos in elmers display, I took it serious.

I "juiced" all my Majano's away. Those basterds were sitting on my zoos and etc causing them to close up! I thought they were cool at first too until I saw them multiplying EVERYWHERE!
