Xenia Will Not do anything

I've had Xenia's for a couple of years now and can't seem to get them to grow or spread or anything. I'm wondering what pple are doing that makes them grow and be a problem so I can try to replicate this. I started out with 3 medium xenia's and ended up killing them because there was aptaisa's mixed in with them. I have just one little guy left and it hasn't grown or spread at all. Its on it's own rock with great lighting for about 6 months now, but it just doesn't grow. I have polyps, mushrooms, and zoas as well and there all exploding on me. The xenia opens and closes like it should but thats it. Just wondering if there is something I could do (maybe feed it directly)? Any help is appreciated.

do they have good flow? they will spread in the direction of the flow. Someone will chime in saying they like "dirty water" and the like, but if they are not dying, they should be spreading. The LFS i got my frag has a power head pointed directly at them and they spread pretty good.

it's definatly getting flow. its not growing either. its been a 1" piece for a while and thats it. also what do u mean by dirty water?

Keep your PH at 8.3. If the Ph is low they wont survive . Also keep our iodine levels at NSW concentrations.

Stable Temp, pref below 80 degrees, Stable PH at 8.3 , and stable Salinity should have them growing like crazy.

They hate fluctuation of almost any kind.

I dont agree. My temps fluctuate between 76-83 all the time with no adverse affects on the xenia in my tank. heck, my sps as well as LPS are growing like mad.... As far as the xenia, I prune aprox 30 heads per month.

What I do agree with is ph stability however.

pH and alk stability. My temp flux is something I'd rather not discuss. Xenia grows well as long as my temp stays between 68 and 83 ish. I do think Iodine isn't critical but influential in xenia growth. I also dose Mg and Sr, and 'think' that helps. For alk and ph stability I dose kalk and that seems to do my system well.
