Xenia yellow fungus

I have recently purchased a pulsing xenia and on one of the stocks there is a yellow fungus on the base of it that is eating away at the stalk has anyone expierenced this? should I take it out? should I cut out the fungus?...the xenia is still pulsing.

Never had seen that, but you may cut the stalk above the damaged part, and attach it to another piece of rock.
Just a thought.
