I think a xenia stole his bike once.

Hehe, I always sense such hostility of some to "the one that burned them that one time". Same thing with damsels, etc.

Pandora,

Actually, the LFS has offered me credit for them, so its all good. Its just that like many newbies I was'nt prepared for how aggressive a colonizer it is. At least, the suff isn't toxic ( That I can tell anyhow..) unlike the green 'shrooms. Unfortunately, the store doesn't want any more of those.
I will cull the stuff, but at present , I'm tolerating it because all I'm adding are low-light loving LPS. And my false percs love the Xenia. So its not ALL bad, didn't mean to give that impression.

I saw the post that mentioned 5 watts per gallon for anenomes. Is that considered alot of light or a medium amount of light? From what I understand sps corals need the most light, how many watts per gallon is required for them? And what would you guys recommend for the xenia? and can you have too much light for certain corals? Sorry for all the questions, but since the search isn't working I'm getting frustrated trying to find info. Thanks for any help.

Anemones are right up there with SPS for light requirements (high). The 5W per gallon is just a guideline. I have seen anywhere from 4-8 used successfully (I think some even more!), but it depends on the species of anemone or coral.

dlish89, I don't know what you mean by medium amount of light, but I do know that it would be good to have 5 watts of light per gallon for anemones. Yes, SPS do need the most intense lighting. I would suggest 7-10 watts of MH lighting per gallon of water for SPS corals. They also need low nitrate levels from what I've heard, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the help is 5 watts per gallon good for softies as well? and what is too light much for softies ?
