XM10K color shift?

I'm looking at the tank yesterday and see that one of my XM10k's look completely differant (color wise) then the rest. I think that it may be the ballast so I shut down two of the lights, let them cool, swap the bulbs and fire them back up..... same issue, the color shift is now at the other end of the tank, so it's not the ballast but the bulb. Does anyone know what causes this? Is there anything I can do short of going out a buying another bulb at 60.00 (these bulbs are less then 2 months old use and about 3 months old from purchase date)?

Thanks

OK I'll take a stab at it. One bulb was older than the other before you purchased. If they set around for long periods of time without use - it is not good for them.

rrr. i bet your mad

i would contact xm with receipts and pictures. explain your situation they may give you half off of a new bulb or replace it.

i think xm should make it right. i hope they do

Ive always noticed a different in the xm 250k Ive used. Right now I have 2x250 xm on the sides and a radium 400 in the center. If you look at my tank the coraline looks different under the 2 different 250k's... and one side seems a little yellower.. a good bulb but Ive noticed this on all the xm's Ive gotten

Humm... well I"m not real pleased with the XM's I have.... it's just odd, they all looked great, tank nice crisp white looking then bang, one end of the tank looks very differant and at 60.00 a bulb I would think they should last a bit longer then a few months.

John is working with me on this....

I'm kind of going through the same thing but with a different product. I purchased it locally less than or around a month a go. I think the pump has always been this way, but who would think that their pump would be sucking water in instead of pushing it out - LOL? Sometimes it works correctly and sometimes it doesn't (This is the pump I turn off when I feed). Well after 7 days from the purchase I have to deal with the Manufacturer "tunze" and all that crap. I know they are "the best" but so far I'm not impressed with my experience.

Well I took the bulb out to look at it closer today (it's been off) and I foind the issue, the bottom of the bulb (where it screws in) there is another piece of glass that the wires run through, well there is a hole burnt clear through it.

Well I contacted John and I have to get the bulb and receipt to him then we will go from there... who knows, can't seem to locate the receipt... just been one of those weeks.
