I will have a 36x20x20 tank and it will be a sps tank. Shall I go with 2 xr15w pro or 1 xr30w pro with wide angle lense.

Also want to know how many inches high would the rms mount from the surface?

I've got a 3x2x2 SPS tank and I went with 2 xr15w pros. I'm glad I did as it gives you a nice coverage as you can spread them out more. It is more expensive though. The RMS mounts stand about 8 inches from the water surface.

So you think the xr30w pro with wide angle lenses and rms mount will not have enough coverage? I don't want dimmed areas

I would think 2 xr15w pros IMO. I am happy with those but I haven't used an xr30w pro so hard to say unless someone has tried it.

Since you plan on keeping mostly SPS, I would recommend using 2 XR15w Pros. Also, we recommend mounting the Radions a minimum of 8 inches above the surface of the water.

My friend did 3-4 inches off the water line. It was a disaster after 2 months. You need some buffer between the water line and the light.
