XR30's For Cheap

So I've got the opportunity to pick up some xr30's for $200 a piece. It's a store closing and they are selling everything. They've been running the lights on their displays and they range from manufacturer dates of 2011-2014. He claims they are all Gen 1, but I don't think they all are.

Anywho it seems like a no brainer, but just looking for others input. I can't seem to find googles answer to when gen 1 and gen 2's were made.

This is in the lighting forum but low traffic. My first post was incorrect saying he claims they are gen 2. I just called him and he said it's a first come first serve basis when picking out which light you get. Not really want to end up with 5 year old lights when there are 2014 models.

depends on what intensity and how long they were run, but newer the better, worse comes to worst you could upgrade the leds yourself, gen 2 that is, gen 1 might still have to be done by factory

If they're at least gen 2s, it sounds like a deal. My buddy had gen 1s before I got mine. I think I got my first radions in the spring of 2013. They were second generation lights (first generation pros). I think anything after early 2013 would be a gen 2 light. Anything after early 2014 might be a gen 3. If you have a laptop, you could install the ecotech programs ecosmart live and the other little plug-in that detects the lights, bring it to the store and see what they've got. Gen 1s (without upgrade) should be easily identifiable by the old style lenses. Newer lights are tougher to tell generation and pro vs. non-pro. Ideally, I'd plug them into a computer and see what they are for sure.
