XXX Rated!!! Naked Clownfish inside!

As a few of you saw today I bought 2 beautiful Naked Clowns today at Ocean Reef in Neptune Beach. Man I was so proud of those guys. They were doing fine when I dropped Ssweet1 off at her house and I checked on them. Had only been in the bag from store to my home for 3 hours. I made sure I asked about them being that long in the bag and was assured they would be fine. Well, One was dead after getting home. 20 minutes after seeing them both fine at Carrie's house. My heart sank.

I even kept them in a styrofoam cooler so they didnt get hot or cold and thats why I brought them inside with me. Would have been hot in the car.

I called Ocean Reef right away and explained that one was fine and one was dead. He agreed to replace it since I never even got it home alive. Am going tomorrow to pick up another.

Here are some pics of the both of them. Took some of the dead one just in case he wanted proof but he was very nice on the phone and didn't seem to doubt me at all.

Was my first time in the store and if he takes care of this which he said on the phone he will, I will be back. Nice, Clean store and a very nice selection of both fish and Corals.

Sorry to hear that you lost one of the clowns. That is great that the lfs is willing to work with you on a replacement. I wish you the best of luck.

Oh, man, that sucks. I saw them at Chris' house and they looked so good. Keep us posted on how it all turns out. Nice ball of cheto there!

That is really too bad, good thing you didnt get them at Aqua Zoo or they would be like oh well that happens you can come back and buy another one. Mike is a great guy to deal with and he has knowledgeable staff also. I just wish they were not so far away like Rob's cause I dont get to go too often. Gosh they looked fine at my house I guess I should of just kept them here for ya Is he going to hold that last one for you? Or are you going to get the true percula? Carrie

His comment on the phone to me was "if the last one is still there he will hold it for me". Like he wasn't sure it was still there.

I am going out there shortly. I hope he keeps his word on replacing him. Thats a long drive if not. May look at something else to while there.

Ok, So it turns out that Mike @ Ocean Reef is an up & up kind of guy! He not only replaced the fish for me at no cost but took the time to talk with me about several things even though the store was busy. I looked around a lot. Grabbed a Toadstool frag and some food he recommended as well just because he took care of the problem.

He also wants to host a meeting for us and I have got the right people working on it to get it scheduled. This weekend was my first time in the store and I really like it. Fits right in with the other great area LFS's we have in Jacksonville & the surrounding area.

So here's one to Mike for standing behind his fish! THANKS!

I can vouge for this too....Although I have had no problems with livestock from them. I live just a couple minutes from the store, so they are the store I frequent most. They have had made some nice additions to their coral selection lately as well. Great group of people in the store. Happy it all worked out for you.

FYI - I just got off the phone with Ocean Reef this morning and they have volunteered to host the July 15 meeting from 5-8pm.

Yeah thats cool too, but is that a leaf I see in the water? Better watch out or the mangrove police will be on ya!

I think I read somewhere that the leaves are toxic? Need some clarity here.

Stopped in at Ocean Reef again this past weekend looking for another completely naked clownfish like the first one that didn't make it home.

They had 4 labeled as "Mis Bar" clowns and only one of them was Naked! Take a guess where that one is.....My Tank!

Here is a pic of the little naked guy after he settled in. The other clowns didn't care too much for him so he settled in across the tank from them and the Yellow Tang protects him from the other fish in the tank. Funniest thing I ever saw is that tang defending the clown.
