Not sure if the title of this thread is kosher, but found these pics and was amazed!!! Check them out. I never knew males and females were so visually different. Hopefully the fish pictured were captive bred, but could very well be illegally collected. In the second pic..... The fish doesn't look anything like any other picture of a respendens I have ever seen in pics. One of the angels that is on the list that I have never see in person. What gives?....... T

You should be ashamed! Exploiting such a tender moment! DISGUSTING.
ROFLMAO.
Lord, wish there had been much more of this "Porn" going on.

The male is Centropyge resplendens .
the female is C.resplendens x C.fisheri , there can never be such a hybrid in the wild as these are Atlantic and Pacific species, but Frank at RCT did it back then and some fish are stil here.

I just read a short synopsis of a paper Frank published on the work he did with the C. resplendent X C. fisheri project and it was noted that a "Hawaiian hybrid resplendent" pair spawned in captivity and it appears the eggs were viable. I bet Copps knows way more about this and the truth to the spawning episode. I was stoked about it though. My pair have never really indicated they have any intention of "pairing" up. They cruise a lot together and one is larger than the other but I have yet to see any of the typical mating behavior one would expect from a pair of angels. Regardless they are the coolest fish in my reef, and they leave the sps, lps, clams, etc alone :D.

BTW, Here is a shot of one of mine when I first got them. They were probably the size of a nickle in this shot, maybe a tad bigger. I must say they are not all that much bigger now, 2+ years later, lol. I really should get some updated shots of them.
