Yasha Goby Concern

I purchased a yasha goby about 3 days ago, he stayed in a decent sized shell with the pistol shrimp until yesterday when he had dug a hole under a rock adjacent to the shell. He was still there when the lights went off, however when I woke up this morning the hole was filled and they were gone. Did they get caved in? Or could they be working on another tunnel somewhere else? Is this common at all?

Don't worry. They won't be "cave in". Pistol shrimp is very good at digging tunnel. They will find the other way out, or even re-open the same entrance if they like that spot.

My pistol closes up his hole every night. Some mornings he opens up the same one, other times he opens a new one. I wouldn't worry.
