Is this a fish that is hard to get it to eat?
I lost one because it wouldn't eat and after 3 weeks it died
He was the only one in the QT tank.

I've never had an issue, but I do QT these guys 3+ weeks with rock cover and frequent feedings. I've two in my SPS tank and they fend for themselves when the mysids float by.

Mine eats like a pig and has a nice fat belly...He tends to just come out of his burrow and grab food when it comes by...He is a somewhat cryptic fish though.

Well, this one did not even have time to dig a burrow. He was in QT with no sand and didn't eat a thing since put in there.

There's debate out there on whether or not to have sand in your QT, but I do. I have three medium sized rocks for cover for small fish and one 4" PVC elbow in there. I've only lost one Yasha in three years this way (much fewer than I've lost to my big female Betta :hmm3.

Do you dose copper on your QT with sand and rocks?
Is it always filled with water just waiting for a fish or you take it down and prep it again when you buy another fish?

It's up 24/7 on a permanent canister filter and is pretty much always dosed with cupramine when fish are present. Size-wise it's not that large, 30G.

How do you keep the bacteria alive when you have no fish? Just add little bit of food every now and then?
Do you do any water change when you have no fish in it?

Umm, to my wife's chagrin, I typically always have new fish in the QT... haha

I used to keep yasha gobies with seahorses and they loved brine shrimp hatchlings. They like to try to jump at night sometimes. So make sure you have a lid
