i have a kessil 360 that i'll put over it for now. i'll prolly eventually pickup a kessil 160 for it, but in no hurry (would rather put that money towards a riptide).
here it is wet. it's nowhere near this blue, but led+phonecamera.
i originally swapped the pump with an old MJ1200 for more flow but it was way too loud. the stock pump is silent, but i want something that will move at least 2x as much water. i have a wp10 that i might throw in it instead of a bigger return pump, but playing with it in my home tank makes me think it might be too loud also. the only thing i can hear now is the fan in the kessil.
i'm probably going to use tropic-marin biocalcium or esv b-ionic for supps. im using brs 2-part at home on my 30 but it doesnt seem to be doing nearly as well as esv b-ionic used to do for me in the past (i think the esv has balanced minors/traces also, while brs is just ca/alk). but i've also used biocalcium years ago and loved it- it was just too expensive for a ~150g system.
i'm already looking at this tank and thinking it needs a frag rack .
Looks great. I have mine cycling then will transfer the corals from my 3gal picotype over then will need to take a trip over to Ultimate for some more critters and have been thinking of trying a shrimp / golby pair of some sort.
i don't have a controller for it yet, so i ramp the color/intensity during the day by hand. but it gets up to a few hours of full intensity and 50-75% (towards white) on the color knob.
a test frag has been happy for the past week, so time to bring the whole party in. tho i desperately need some hermits, will prolly run up to ua this evening.
restacked the rocks and brought some zoos in. will prolly restack again but it's getting closer to what i want.
the only issue im having is evaporation (it's *very* dry in here with the big industrial hvac). im trying to be extra-safe, cant risk a wet carpet here so im shying away from autotopoff, but as-is it cant go 3 days without topoff. so going to play with a lid on the front/back and see what that does.
