Ok
I am looking to import some marines and freshwater fish into New Zealand, however each shipment must go into quarantine (its the law) for a period of 3-6weeks...
this is what i was thinking for a design...
these tanks are designed to hold fish stock only...

there will be 2 or 3 systems staked ontop of each other but each 16 tanks will run into its own sump... so
2 systems = 2 sumps
3 systems = 3 sumps
Each system is 3456 Liters or 912 Gallons and will be heavily stocked.
for each sump i am thinking about using the AquaC EV-2000 with the Dolphin SP series Aqua Sea 6000 sp return pump. I am unsure what UV to use on such a system.

What type of fish are you importing?
Where will the QT need to be? Can it be at your house?
Keep in mind you will most likely lose a fair amount of fish, thats the nature of shipping...
Where are you planning on getting them from?

Lastly is there no local market in NZ?

I think the more isolated systems you can have, the better...the LFS where I live has their entire stock on one system and they had a crash a few months back and it affected EVERYTHING they had.

fish will range from angels to clownfish...
pritty much everything...
there will be 16 tanks per system approx 900 gallon system and i am thinking around 4 marine...
I will have a few specalist tanks for the pricey fish and delicates(seahorses)
Yes i understand the risk of a crash but its not pratical to have a skimmer per tank, nor cost affective.
the system will be on site of the store, and is a isolated room.

If you understand that there will be fish lost I don't think it's a bad idea. Your going to lose some but as long as you are slow and patient and don't overload the systems all at once I'd think you would be fine.

oh yes fish loss in certain but keeping it to a minumum is obviously the aim...
strict q proccess on my end will help with this...

I am concerned thou, i have never built a system like this before, how would i plum the skimmer from the two tanks? just a simple t?
