Yeah, First Sun Coral

Just got a new sun coral frag from the LFS with three heads.

i'm working on the container menthod as i'm typing. hopefully it'll come out in a day or two. LFS told me they just got them in, so might have a good chance at saving it.

first attempt to get the polyps to open was a failure.

tried with cyclop again, and they are not opening. should i try mysis? will PE mysis be okay?

I just got a sun coral on Sunday and am trying the tupperware method for the 1st time. I used some Rod's food and it looks like the polyps are starting to open up. From what I gathered in the sticky, you just want to get them to open up with whatever food you can and then target feed them.

Throw everything in the refrigerator at them till they open.

It wont mean they wont open, ive found sun corals can be very picky before they decide to open up.. ive even had the skin starting to pull back before they decide to open.. My clear polpy suns took 3 months to open fully, my yellows took a week, my blacks never didnt open.. my pinks wouldnt open for the first two weeks, this is how are I have them now, with regular feedings including weekly tupperware feedings.

Yep, just give them time. Try every day they will come around.

so far after a week or so, they are starting to open up a little. i can see the small tentacles coming out. i sort of expected them to take several weeks to open up, but was hoping they would come out in a couple of days.

i also bought a black sun coral. it was opening in the store, so i got a frag of it.
