I have to disagree somewhat on the color thing. I find that my ORA yellow assessor can turn his/her colors on and off. The fish has been tang yellow and showing those glowing green and orange edging lines, but those colors are displayed more like a flasser wrasse displays its most vibrant colors. The fish can also turn to a very muddy color at will. The normal color for the fish is a sort of French's mustard color, which is still pretty yellow.
I had wanted an assessor for a long time when I finally got mine -- one of the first ORA assessors sold to my LFS. It is one of those great situations where the captive bred fish is less expensive than the wild caught, and they are pretty hardy little fish. I think mine is great, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy a handful if they were available to me for $20 a piece. They are one of the few fish species that are suggested as being peaceful enough to be housed with seahorses (which says a lot.)
