yellow assessor

sorry for the lack of knowledge but what exactly do u mean by they are water column feeders. also what does hth mean. And so im still curious can they survive off mostly live pods?

Mine only eats frozen brine, live brine, and small pieces of mysis. I've never seen it eat off the rocks/glass/sand.

They feed in the water column aka they feed on things that float by in the water...they do not pick copepods off of live rock. Because of this i would say a yellow assessor would not survive without feedings and just relying on copepods. Assorted small flakes and mysis shrimp twice a day for mine

I feed all of my tanks 4-5x per day with a variety of frozen foods, flake, NLS pellets, and live brine.

The Yellow Assessor isn't a terribly active fish, but I can't imagine feeding it less than a few times a day.

I have a pair in my 57g. They eat frozen food and live food from the water colum, but not off of the rock. I feed at least once a day.

Bump.....just got one a few weeks ago and very aggressive - at least compared to coral beauties, tangs, cardinal fish, etc. ...and immediately started picking on a six line wrasse. I moved him from my 46 gallon to my larger 140 gallon - agree with feeding once a day, mysis, silver sides, etc.

Anyone know if he'll get along with these fish??
1 - 4" Scopas Tang;
2 - 5" Lipstick Naso Tang;
6 - 1" to 2" Blue Green Chromis
4 - Spotted Cardinal fish
1 - 2" Flame Hawkfish
1- 3" Tomatoe Clown
1 - 4" Ruby Head Fairy Wrasse
1 - 2" Flame Angel
1 - 5" Pink Anthias
1 - 2" Spotted Mandarin Goby

The goby in particular....will the basslet torture him to death??
