I have a 24 gallon Aquapod, and now I've started a smaller 10 gal nano. I want to eventually keep a pair of Hi Fin Red Banded Goby (Stonogobiops nematodes) with their symbolic shrimp the randalli pistol. But I also have a yellow banded coral shirmp in the thank. Will everything be OK between the shirmps??

Yes, this will be fine, since the pistol hardly ventures out. Every so often, you'll hear the pistol shrimp "snapping" to defend himself and this will just scare your yellow banded. I have the blue body version with a randall's goby/randall's pistol pair.

Thanks for the info. How loud is the snapping sound? In the fall/winter I'm planning to move the tank into my room. I just dont wanna keep hearing the snapping sound when I'mn sleeping. . .

Also, do you think coral banded shrimps are ok with sexy shrimp?

Based on my experience, the pistol and banded coral shrimp will be fine together. The goby however, could be in trouble if the banded coral shrimp harasses him too much before he pairs up with the pistol shrimp, so I would suggest moving the banded coral out of the tank until the goby and pistol shrimp are settled together, and then reintroduce the banded coral. As far as the sexy shrimp, I would say no because my banded coral ate a sexy within an hour of the sexy entering the tank, but if the sexy was introduced to the tank while the banded coral was not in it the sexy would have a much higher chance of survival.

I have a sexy in the same tank with my pistol/goby pair and the blue body cs. But because I have a RBTA, the sexy hosts that for protection.

IMO, if you plan to only have the pistol/goby pair and nothing else, then it should be fine. The popping noise is only to defend their territory from others. but you never know, the popping noise is maybe to scare off a hitchhiker crab or something. i guess you're a light sleeper like me :)

I have a coral banded shirmp that scavenges at night. . .so there may be a problem eventually. . . Maybe I can just remove him to the main tank if need be. I am a very light sleeper though.

I ordered the pair + the pistol this past week, so it should be coming sometime next week hopefully. I ordered from Vividaquariums.com . They seem like a good supplier even if the forums on here are not always positive about them.
