can someone tell me how to feed this guy? this is the most shy fish i ever see. everytime i move in front of the tank. it dives right to the sand and will not come up for couple of hrs. how can i feed the fish if everytime i move it will hide. my clowns will get all the food the poor guy just go hungry? i got this fish last week wednesday. everyone said this yellow wrasse is one of the easiest fish to keep and will eat everything. thanks for you help i am really confuse of how to feed the fish when it always hide.

These really shouldn't be too reclusive. Mine was always very active, not shy. With more time things should improve. In the mean time, as long as you have a healthy pod population for it to feast on, that can sustain it for now. Dropping in a clam on the half shell for it and walking away is another good idea.

Mine would wake and dart out of the sand and be active till 9:00pm And then it would retreat into the sand till morning again. I think it just has to get use to it's surrounding.
Mine would eat anything I offered

thanks for your advices reefers. the fish finally out and about the rest of the day after i posted. i did put in some mysis and it ate some. it has been picking at the pods a lot too. i have too many pods so i would not worry now. will it eat pellets later? i have much better control of how much i feed them with pellets.

well, reefers. since the fish is constanly picking at the rocks. i will try to put some mysis into the crevices of the rocks. the clowns are open water feeders. they dont bother to look into the rocks much. it might work better and more natural for the fish.

Mmckibben, i do not know if that will work. i do have a sump/refugium (20G more). if you have a sump/refugium i think that will work. the fish will be around 5 inches max.

i have a 30 gallon refugium, and a 75 gallon fragging aquarium conected to my 36 gallom. I know i,m crazy, but selling frags is the only way i can afford reefing.
