Yellow Coris Wrasse

I have a few questions about the Yellow Coris Wrasse. Tank size, feeding and temperament. I'm thinking about getting one so any information would be helpful! I thought I would ask the experts here first!

i have one, theyre great, except when they pick at lps! but mine doesnt focus on coral, kinda jus nips once and goes on its way. very beautiful fish though! and doesnt seem to fight much with others.

I have a larger one and he is semi-aggressive towards some of the tank mates. Gives my sailfin tang a hard time most of the time and the other wrasses at feeding time. Minor contact on occasion. Sailfin will get big and let him have it one day.

I have mine in a 60 gallon without issues, its a model citizen with the other fish I have.

Eats anything I toss in there, very active swimmer.

I have one that is also a model citizen. It's peaceful, active, and beautiful. Mine eats everything, but prefers mysis. What size tank do you have and what other fish do you have? There is a great Sticky on the New to Hobby forum that will give helpful comments on your stocking list. I use it when I'm thinking of adding a fish I haven't had before. And I also check info from live aquaria.com, like Deinonych.

These wrasse are not coral eaters. I'm sure it was just eating a bug and not nipping LPS

Great fish, great color, non aggressive and is great for pest. A sandbed is a must!

model eaters, and you're going to get evolution cringing when you call it a coris wrasse... I have a pair in my 150 and they are absolutely model citizens. Great fish, constantly eating pests from the rock and have never touched a coral.

Thanks everyone I have a 25 gallon mix reef. That being said I'm getting a 14 gallon sump/fuge. The live stock now is a lot but 2 of the fish are getting moved. I have 2 occelaris clownfish pair (1 orange, 1black), then there is a purple dart fish that keeps to its self. The other 2 fish are 2 orbiculate cardinals. The female keeps having spaz attacks like it looks dead then she gets up and swims away. That's why I'm moving both to another setup. I want the yellow coris wrasse because they seem cool and it will add color. Also I do 5 gallon water changes every week then a 10 gallon water change every other month.

25G is going to be too small imho for even one yellow wrasse... Ours are constantly zipping around the tank and rarely stop but for a moment to pose. I'd reconsider and do something that doesn't need as much room.

Your tank is not large enough, and most any wrasse will be stressed in cramped quarters in the long haul. Sorry.

Ok thx! Now I know when I upgrade I can get one! What would be the minimum tank size because I want to upgrade to a 40 gallon breeder or 55 gallon tank.
