yellow efflo

Does anyone have a yellow.efflo? my los has one in but i just wanted to know if it keeps its colour as its quite expensive.

I have one that is light green, very much like a common green slimmer. I've never seen or heard of a yellow one, but would be wary that it is bleached. How long have they had it at the lfs?

The efflo I have was yellowish when I got it. Now it darkened up and is turning purple. It was bleached.

Its only just come in yesterday from oz. im going down to see it tomorrow. that was my fear that its just a bleached green one.

They do come in yellow and stay yellow. I got a tiny frag from Mr Coral a while back and it's grown and kept the yellow color. The problem is that it is very difficult to get the yellow color on photos without photoshopping. I am not talking about light green or green shades. It is yellow indeed.

I'll believe it when I see it....hahah.

I would like to see one of these yellow efflo that has been in a tank for at least 6 months or longer. Not saying it isnt possible but......

I also had a yellow one that I got from Mr Coral as well. But when it just started to get some size to it my tank went down the toilet and took out 99% of my SPS's. I have been thinking about getting another one from him when he gets more in.

I have yet to see a single Soli come in from Australia, there are no efflos in AU waters.

I've been dying for the first soli's and other "table/efflo" like aussie corals to start showing up.

A picture would help to see if it's just bleached or is a true rich yellow.

With that said I did just get a Lime green one from extreme corals today.. some people colour perceive as yellow I'm sure it would be much more yellow under lightings other then radium.

They're not documented on that chart, but I can guarantee there's Efflos here :) part of the problem with Solis is they're typically collected on the west coast, and as you can imagine, shipping from the west coast to LA is a bit more than many collectors/exporters are willing to do.

Are you sure they aren't solis? According to veron there are no efflorences in Australian waters. Most people don't bother to take the time to learn the difference between the 2 and just call all "flat platting acros with no branches efflos"

Either way I'd be willing to pay a good chunk for an AU soli, or one of the few other interesting platting branches acroporas that grow in AU.

Well i went to the lfs today and left the coral as i thought it was to much money..and not wow enough. here's a pic if i can get it to upload off my phone. its more yellow in the flesh.

Hopefully attached now.

I agree that the pictured acro is not an efflo. I have to make correction on my prior statement. My yellow acro is not an efflo, it looks more like a soli.

Certain. I wouldn't call them common per-se, but I certainly would sooner call them that than absent. We don't have the same culture with corals you guys do where naming conventions take place, very little is given a name (with the exception of "millies" which refers to about 5 different similar species) so there's not much of that to contend with.

I've personally seen at least 6 species not listed in Australian waters in the last 12 months collected. So either they've been introduced... or someone sucks at mapping. ;)
