Yellow Eye Tang

Reef Bass

colors and textures
I'm looking for some kind of tang to help with the algaes in my 100g. How does the Yellow Eye rate in terms of hardiness, reef safeness, algae consumption and aggression? The tank has sps, lps, zoos / palys and live rock. There are no other tangs in the tank, just a copperbanded butterfly, a royal gramma, a sunburst anthias, a purple firefish and an algae blenny.

Thanks for your input.

A good choice. Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week. Nori (supermarket) Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad and Ocean Nutrition are all ideal products and are very easy to use. Hope this is helpful.

Good thing the CBB is already in your tank - heard from some people it was hard to introduce a CBB after the yellow one.

Great choice for your tank..it will not bother any corals, eat a good amount of algae and shouldn´t harass the other fish..

Hmmm maybe should introduce too of them at the same time? If you decide to add a second one later it could be troublesome..

edit:
woops sorry misstook yellow eye for yellow..then you should add only one and it could cause trouble with your algae blenny as they compete for food

IMO, my kole was a little aggressive twords some newcomers. Great fish though and was very hardy. Probably one of the best choices for a 100 gallon tank. This fish spend a great deal of time picking at rocks and the glass.
