Hi guys,

Have some questions regarding the Yellow fiji leather coral to find a better spot:

- What is the max size of it? Width and tall.
- When we say "good flow and high light" what does it mean in % of MP40 and Vertex Illumina 260?

Thanks

They don't stop growing... it will get as big as you allow it..
I don't know how to awnser your next question... high flow means lots of turbid warwe movement.. high light means lots o f'n light

Take a razor blade and cut it... then take a rubber band and secure it... it will then reattach and you can sell the frag get store credit.... or even keep it and have a clone in the tank

Leathers, especially the yellow Fiji, can take a lot of light. Illuminate the yellow Fiji as you would any high light demanding sps. So, in a tank with 200 par at the sandbed, place it at the middle to the top. The brighter the light, the more yellow the Fiji leather is.

Sarcophyton Leather Coral Propagation video says the leather corals are toxic to other corals when are cut.

run carbon...

you have to understand no one coral is a single animal...they are thousands of animals living in a colony....segregating the colony (fraging) is the only way to maintain its size. otherwise it will continue to grow, likely suffocating and killing itself against the glass...they can touch the glass without issue...by killing itself i mean filling the tank, cutting off flow to itself there by suffocating.

My Fiji yellow was 3 inches in 2010 and now over a foot wide in my 150. I have it in high flow and the foot is in the lower third and extends to the upper third of the tank. Never thought to trim yet. I'm having more trouble keeping the red Monty cap and the purple grape cap under control. I just took a razor blade to my Kenya tree. The frag is looking for a home.
