yellow gig?

I tossed it out.... Ugh... It's insides started turning to mush. It was clouding the water up seriously bad in less then 12 hrs...

Lesson learned... I will watch a gig for at least a week before I purchase it, unless it's dirt cheap or well established.

I have 3 remaining gigs, and I think I'm good with them for awhile. My blue one is still borderline. It is staying inflated and sticky, but still very bleached. Hope it will continue to improve. My 2 multi-colored ones are doing great! They are growing well. Probably from the fish they have been eating! Lol so far they have eaten a sm panther grouper, orange spot filefish, and a flame angel. I think I'm sticking to just clowns with them. Lol

Sorry to hear about the loss. Did you ever introduce the sick nem to your tank with the healthy gigs, or did you keep it in QT?

+1. Gigs are common enough now that I don't want to pay a premium for one that's newly imported. None of the gigs I've purchased recently made it through QT. The only one that did make it was from a tank teardown -- and for those I will pay a premium knowing that my chances are good that it will survive.

Thanks... I'm bummed about this one.

No, I did not put it in with my healthy gigs. I put it into qt until I saw it deflate repeatedly then I started treatment. The best it ever looked was right after I started treating. It inflated nicely, it turned to mush. I'm not placing any gigs in with my healthy ones unless I'm pretty sure they are healthy and have observed for at least a week.

Gotcha.... Thanks for sharing. I actually have a small multi-colored one that I purchased a new import maybe 2 months ago. It is doing awesome! My blue one is just so / so... Hoping that it improves with time.

Gigs are so beautiful, and so difficult to acclimate....
