anyone know anyhting about the gold brotula or marine yellow knifefish. thers one at my shop and im thinkin of getting it.

Extremely secretive, difficult to get to eat (usually only take live foods like ghost shrimp, sometimes not even that). Its shy behavior compounds feeding difficulties. However, that doesn't mean that they are impossible. There was one particular case where we got one in at the store that did eat. The customer still has it (never sees it) after 2.5 years and it is still growing and doing well when he does see it. I would see if you can one that eats ahead of time, if possible.

our eats a lot. it really does woof down brine and mysis never tried it with flake or pelet tho. know about compatabiliy and max lenght?

Assuming you are talking about Dinematichthys riukiuensis (or the somewhat similar D. iluocoeteoides), then they reach from under 3" for the former, to just over that for the latter. As far as compatibility goes, they will not bother much of anything, except for small crustaceans or tiny fish. Just make sure nothing can outcompete it for food.
