just picked up some yellow polyps at the LFS.Look great, whats the word on the best placement, water flow that sort of thing???

Well im pretty sure you can place them anywhere in the tank, as long as they have some light...for flow, i would say low to medium...any pics? I'd love 2 c

I would isolate them on the sandbed somewhere. They will grow out of control if left unchecked. I would not recommend placing them on your main reef structure. They are like "pretty" aiptasia and will out compete many coral for space. Having said that they are very hardy and adapt to most captive conditions just fine. Good luck!

I agree 100% with the above. :)

I've had my yellow polyps from my novice years to present. They've survived multiple tank crashes, different lighting systems, water chemistry mistakes and electrocution.

I don't think you can go wrong with placement. The seem to like moderate water movement and are adaptable to various lighting levels.

One of my favorite corals...

I love my yellow colony polops, and would never compare them to aptasia.
I have mine on their own rock towards the bottom of my tank
where the light isn't so strong, but water flow is good.
seems to give good balance to my tank and leaves the upper brighter areas for things that really need that intense light.
When they start to grow, and they will, just place a rock next to them to latch on to. My LFS loves to buy them or trade .
Good luck and enjoy your new buddies!
