I just bought a yellow sea cucumber. Need advice for feeding. I havent seen the feeding tentacles come out but once in the week ive had it. It has been in the same place also the whole time. Other live stovk is doing great. So far ive tried reef nutrition's live phyto pheast.

Can you get a picture of it? The name escapes me right now, but this one was relatively harmless and just feeds on leftovers in the tank. No need for feeding.

If it dies it can crash your whole system, be careful!

Yellow sea cucumbers max out at like an inch and a half and if the OP just got it from the store it's probably much smaller than that. ;)

I got one of these over the summer but It didn't survive... dunno if it wasn't getting enough food, stress of the transition or what, but it only opened it's crown maybe two or three times and was just closed after that and died after about a month (Side note about them crashing your tank, I never fished him out of my 5g invert tank and he was consumed with no ammonia or NO3 spike).
I feed phyto feast daily... many people say they are very easy to keep and you don't need to specifically feed them. IMO though they are like a lot of sessile inverts, people aren't exactly sure what they eat but if they survive obviously they're eating something in the tank, maybe my tank just doesn't have whatever they eat. :shrug

Good luck though, they are super fricken cool and I was pretty bummed about mine.

I tried a syringe at night and he opened. Used phyto pheast. Will try this method for awhile and see how it goes. He is about an inch long and 1/4-3/8 in diameter

cloak, that is a Tiger Tail. They usually find a nice place and anchor unlike the black cukes that always seem to be on the move. Both are sand cleaning machines.
The Pink and Yellow like mine here are totally different, and find a place out of the sand and filter feed. This one hasn't moved but once in years.
