Yellow tail damsel breeding

I just noticed my yellow tail damsel guarding what appears to be a clutch of eggs. I have a breeding pair of clowns and the eggs look similar. A mess of little stalks with balls on the end waving in the current under my capricornis. One of the damsels keeps darting in there and fanning his tail. I have had these two fish for 10 - 12 years. Maybe they have been up to it all this time and I just never noticed?

I had a pair of yellow tailed damsels and they would spawn all the time in my DT. The issue with these damsels is that the larvae are really small, even smaller than clowns, and for the $1 or so you get from an LFS, not worth the expense unless you want to do it for the experience of it. You would need to get the smaller S-Type rotifer to get them through meta.

Nice. I wasn't really thinking of raising them. I just did a quick internet search and didn't really find any examples. I have a breeding pair of clowns and although I have entertained raising them I really don't think I have the time or energy to try it. I have had the female ocellaris for nearly 12 years. Her first mate took a leap about two years ago. I bought a pair of percula's and she quickly chose one to be her mate and kicked the other out. Now I get percullaris hatches every couple of weeks.

I just noticed my regal damsels have a clutch of eggs with all silvery eyes showing so they must be near ready to hatch. I have loads of rots that I am using for my clown fish fry would these be any good for the damsels ? Thanx

Damsels are smaller than clowns when hatched. You really need S-Type rotifers, you have the L-Type. The L-type will probably be too large for them to consume. You have nothing to loose trying though.
