yellow tail tamarin wrasse

A LFS has had one for sale for about 4 weeks. I've looked the fish over and there appears to be no damage to the mouth and it is eating frozen. I currently have a 70g Half Cylinder tank with lots of rock work and a 3" sand bed. Would this wrasse be a good fit for the tank? I've read they do really bad in shipping and are hard to get eating frozen. This wrasse seems to be past those two hurdles.

With that much time under it's belt in captivity and already eating frozen, are good signs. A lot of the sensitive wrasse species like tamarins and leopards don't make it through the first week or two if they've suffered complications from shipping.

I keep leopard wrasses and if i could buy them already eating frozen i would! That fish would be perfect for your tank. I train my leopards to eat using baby brine shrimp until they start eating flake/frozen.

Currently have a fat leopard wrasses that eats everything. But i remember when i got him in the mail and he was upside down in the bag and had a rough time acclimating him. But he is kicking and happy today!

You mentioned having 3" sand bed. It should be fine sand.

I have one that eats small pellets and flakes. Been in my DT about 6 weeks. It gets out and mixes it up with the other fish at feeding time. Got it of LADD and it was eating frozen the second day. I had a leopard for two years that did not survive treatment for an ich infestation.
