Yellow-tailed Blue Damselfish

Alright so in some books I've read that yellow-tailed blue damselfish are better off with a mate. I don't know if this is true and even if it is there is a high chance that I won't put one in anyway because mine is already aggressive as it is with other fish but if this is true then maybe I'll think about putting one in with him. He's been in the tank for about a year now so I'm just curious if this is actually true.
Are yellow-tailed Blue Damselfish better kept with a mate/partner?

They are sequential hermaphrodites like clowns and the dominate one will be the female. Same considerations for as pairing off clowns. How aggressive the female will be probably depends more on her individual temperment, same as with clowns.

How does there sex work? Do they change the same way clowns do ?

Clownfish being damsels, it wouldn't surprise me.

I've got closely related azure damsels in my 65 gallon reef, and they're a charm. They'll harass newbies a bit, and get into it with the (much larger than they are) coral beauty angel, but that's all bluff and display. They've also been caught spawning in the tank. (The above-mentioned coral beauty was seen snacking on their eggs...)
