Yellow Tang, black specs

A friend of mine just picked up a yellow tang the other day, and it has now developed little tiny black specs on its body. Does anyone have any clue what this could be? I know its not ick as I have seen ick before and this looks nothing like it. Any help would be great!

Prazi pro is reef safe but might knock off featherdusters and some worms

I was wondering how the Tang was doing. I just had a bout of Black Ich on my Yellow Tang. I ended up doing a freshwater dip and QT now for about 2 weeks with all my fish. The Ich is gone but they are still in QT due to the flatworm life cycle.

In my early days of saltwater I went through 2 yellow tangs due to these little black specks. I swore that I would never have another yellow tang because I just thought I couldnt keep em even though I had before & since kept fish that are considered to be more difficult, even other tangs.

He is doing much better. We treated with prazi pro and have been watching him closely. No spots now for over three weeks and he is fattening up nicely. Thank you for the help everyone.

Glad to hear it. BI is usually easy to cure and YTs are very hardy fish.
