Hi,

I have a yellow tang. He has not been eating properly. I try to feed him with nori and forzen formula 2 but he doesnt seem to be interested. the fish is a week old. He got ich now. In the nite it is white spots and in the day time, its almost invisible, but I still see some bumps on his body. I have tried garlic and still he doesnt seem to be interested in eating. I had a lot of hair algae and he seemed to have eaten all of them :) but dont think heis eating healthy.

Can someone advice on this?
thanks

For the Ich, see the following:
[ich]

Fish fequently aren't interested in eating when they have Ich. However that may not be the whole story. It would help if you told us more about the fish (size?) and tank (size, age, other fish, water parameters).

OK, best I can suggest is to treat the Ich and keep offering interesting food. With a little luck he will come around.

Throw a piece of spinach in there to get him eating again- I have a yellow tang that developed Ich the first few days I put him in the tank and he also would not eat. Before trying spinach- I had bought almost every type of herbovoir type food available...none of it worked. So I tried a piece of spinach and he liked it. I think the spinach kept him alive long enough to get him over the ich. Once I put him back in the main tank I weened him off of the spinach and onto nori. My yellow tang and lawnmower blenny go through about a credic card sized piece of nori every day. I have scaled back their feedings to every other day to avoid pollution.

I tried the spinach piece, but still no use. I have tried formula 2 frozen and dried. I have tried nori and the yellow tang doesnt seemed to be interested. I fed babdy brine shrimp. I put some garlic extreme too. still no effect.

Please suggest. thanks
