Yellow Tang Heavy Breathing and aggression what to do

I have a yellow tang that was QT'd for 9 weeks, treated with multiple rounds of prazi.

Fish was transferred to display tank, noticed the slightest amount of white haze that was barely noticeable on one eye, the next day it was gone.

I now notice him breathing heavily and being aggressive towards to the glass, backing up and trying to attack the glass with the white spine they have.

Is this normal aggression or is this being caused by some sort of parasite in the gills that is making him act this way?

There's currently only 2 ocellaris clowns in the tank and the 1 yellow tang in question.

There are also 4 snails.

no corals, no inverts etc.

My question is what do i do ? Do i sit back for a day and observe to see if the heavy breathing slows down or is this a sign that I need to act fast and treat the DT with prazi?

Video Link of him is below

Thanks in advance for the help

Yeah he's been eating good. Looks healthy otherwise... it's just the constant heavy breathing and the first time i'm seeing him show any aggression in this tank

Zebrasomas are pretty crazy & naturally more aggressive than most Tangs, I have a Yellow & Purple together, they keep each other in check but they both will lunge at the glass when I come close to feed or clean the tank, as long as it is still eating good, i wouldn't worry, it really is a beautiful looking specimen you have.

I am obviously unable to observe your fish over a elongated period of time, so I can't venture a guess to as what has set him off, other than it looks as though he is seeing another Yellow Tang & exhibiting that type of aggression....(silly fish)

May just be seeing his reflection. I stripped the black sheeting on my tank and my pretty large domino believes there is another fish her size---second day now trying to figure where that fish is.

I def agree it could be just seeing his reflection... what's strange to me is this is the first time in the 3 or 4 days that he's been in the DT that he's done this, is it possible it's taken him a few days to become comfortable in the new tank and now he is demonstrating control over territory for the first time? The heavy breathing is what concerns me. it's also quite possible i'm just completely over reacting.

Any idea what a normal "breathing rate" for a yellow tang is or how to assess it further?

Going to see if he still eats the same today as he's been eating like a pig, so I guess if he still eats the same then I should just relax and monitor it to see if behavior changes.

he looks pretty healthy. i would not worry too much.

he is just getting ****ed at his reflection. he will figure it out eventually.

update

he hasn't stopped going nuts and breathing heavy since lights on today.

ate a few pellets of food but a noticeable decrease in interest in food today.

I can't visually see anything wrong with him though

Am I smart to dose display tank with prazi as a precautionary?

only 2 ocellaris clowns, 1 yellow tang and some snails in the display tank.

No coral or inverts

just dosed prazi

GFO and Carbon Reactors are off, protein skimmer is off, UV is off.

Added 2 air stones to sump.

Let's see if he improves over the next couple of days.

Checked params again before dosing prazi

ammonia 0 , nitrite 0, nitrate 2

so 2 days later i'm still noticing him breathing quite heavy... i've watched a bunch of videos of yellow tangs to observe their breathing rates and my guy is still breathing very heavy in comparison. He is still eating well.

Ammonia at 0, nitrite at 0, nitrate at 4

what the heck am I missing here?

I feel like prazi would have made some improvement 48 hours later?

If he did have something in his gills that Prazi would *hopefully* have killed, there could still be some irritation in there from where the parasites were attached causing the heavy breathing.

How did you acclimate him to the tank from QT, and what is the salinity of the tank? You could try lowering the salinity to help increase the available oxygen in the water (if necessary).

But honestly IMO if he is eating and acting normal he will probably be fine.

drip method for acclimation.... he was fine for about 4 days after being added to the DT. Salinity is currently 31 ppm.

He's still eating well and active... noticing maybe an every so slightly less amount of agression towards the glass today.. still there but maybe just a touch not as severe. Breathing is still heavy but maybe just a touch less severe then past couple days.

day 3 after dosing prazi.
