Yellow tang or Purple?

I am looking to get either a purple tang or a yellow tang for my 90gal reef. I have a 4" foxface and a small 2.5" striatus tang in the tank now along with a fairy wrasse and a tiny flasher wrasse. Which tang do you guys think would do better in the tank. I have read that purple tangs are very aggressive so I am wondering if am going to have problems between the two tangs and the foxface. I would like to add that I am going to completely redo my rock work anyway so would this help with aggression issues.

i don tknow if the foxface will bother them but if i were you i'd add both a purple and a yellow(same size) at the same time. that way you can have both.

whenever i add tangs at the same time. there is no aggression and they actually end up swimming around together.

the purple and yellow tang are neck and neck in regards to aggression. IMHO these fish become too large to be kept long term in a 90 gallon. rearranging the rocks will do little to calm aggression

You might be ok with a yellow if it is the last fish you add....stykthyn is right...rearrange the rocks. Your tank is too small for a purple...you would need a 110 or bigger.

Don't rearragne the rocks in your reef. You will disturb the oxic/anoxic zones. Leave the rocks alone.

I don't find purple or yellow to be agressive. Just get small ones, if you must, but plan on finding them suitable homes (even if it means giving them away for free) as they grow. Be sure and feed them enough so that they grow at least 1" per year.

I have a purple tang and a foxface in a 90 .The tang is a bully to every fish in my tank EXCEPT the Foxface. i got my tang when he was only about 3 inches and the foxface was double that, now their about even in size.I agree long term a 90 is too small for the purple tang their extremely active.
