Yellow Tang swimming against the gravel, must be ICH??

New to my tank. He has been in about 5 days. Just today I saw him swim sideways and rub his left side into the sandbed a few times. This is ich behavior correct? No visible spots on him..

Could be numerous kinds of parasites, everything from ich, to velvet, to flukes. Most of the time you will NEVER see visible signs the fish is infected. Ich and velvet attack mostly the gills first and foremost. Or he could just have an itch. Your best bet would be to treat now before you have a wildfire.

I think you kind of have to assume that tangs have ich and treat accordingly. Do you have a QT tank?
