I'm looking for some advice. My Yellow Tang of three years developed advanced fin rot. I've had him in a hospital tank by himself for 48 hours and it progressed since then. I started erythromycin 36 hours ago.
All other fish in the DT are healthy.
His right pectoral fin is essentially gone and his dorsal, central and tail fins are all affected with exposed bone.
I've read that fish can recuperate
from fin rot and that fins can regenerate to some degree but it looks to me like the right pec fin is gone for good.
At this point I'm not sure if he will live since he doesn't seem to be eating.
Even if he does survive this, will he ever be able to rejoin the other fish in he DT as disabled as he would be? (75 gallon peaceful mixed reef)
At this point I'm wondering if the more humane thing would be to euthanize him. I've been doing some research on using Clove oil followed by vodka.
Any advice would be appreciated.
