D.L. Heritage Rings
Hi, I was looking at another thread about Yellow Tangs with red lines on their heads and waned to jump in on it but it was closed. So, I am starting a new discussion.
I have a Yellow Tang with red lines on his head. They started to appear a few weeks ago. It started as what I initially diagnosed as lateral line disease. I was running carbon at the time and removed. Research has shown that carbon could be a trigger for this type of disease. Once the carbon was removed it appeared that he was improving for a few days. Now, I discover that he has red lines on his head. All of my water tests are perfect and am feeding him a combination if things. He gets nori every day, floating kelp pellets and he also eats freeze dried mysis shrimp and slow sinking marine fish food.
Aside from treating him for the issue in a separate tank, unfortunately impossible, what more can I do to improve his health. I perform weekly water changes, am now using r/o water but started the tank with treated tap water from my well. I have been swapping out R/O now for three weeks with 10 % water changes. Could the well water be the trigger?
