Yellow Tang

I have a 90 g with a 5 chromis (3 bumblebee and 2 green) and 1 six line wrasse. What would be the pros and ocns of adding a yellow tang? How difficult are they to keep and how would that limit what I can add in the future?

You tank should have the right kind of algae so it can graze on it all the time (or get a vegi-clip and put some Nori in it). Watch out for Ich...tangs are very succeptible. Keep water quality good, like most stuff.

They're big and active, so you might not want to add any of the more shy fish, but other than that, they're nice fish. They will place a bit more load on the filtration than less active animals.

I agree about the water parameters, and would definitely quarantine the animal for 6 weeks to deal with marine ich.

Make sure you dont want to add anything else other than the yellow. Because once you add it and it gets established, it will be very difficult to add another fish. But I dont see a problem with adding one, based on what you currently have

YOu can add more fish.

that depends on the individual. Some won't let other fish into the tank, others will, mine, fortunately, will.

I didn't say you can't add anything else, I said it will be very difficult, as yellow tangs are one of the most territorial fish.

you should meet my six-line wrasse! almost as bad as a damnsel!
