yellow tang?

I have a friend with almost your set up and those two fishy get along very well.
Anyway is recomended to have 100 gal tank for that kind of tangs.

You will constantly hear people complain abot having two tangs in a tank that small or even one. My opinion doesnt matter here but I have a friend who has the same tangs you want in a 90 and they are perfectly happy. Just my input

They'll be fine. Just make sure you keep them healthy, QT them, and have plans for them in future rather it's finding them a new home or upgrading. :)

lol tang crusaders hahahahaha i read a thread and they almost lynched someone cus he had wanted to get a tang for a 55gal tank

the blue tang is fine in the 72, its the yellows that need biggger tanks 100+gallons

you are mixed up the blue tang needs more room then the yellow. even though all tangs need more room

Thats backwards. The Hippo Tangs gets about 4 more inches larger than a Yellow Tang. I think you would be able to keep a Yellow Tang in there long term over a Blue Tang. Anyway I think you will be fine for now. Just add a small yellow tang. I used to have both but my Carpet ate the Yellow. Once they get bigger it just gives you an excuse to upgrade tanks. I wouldnt keep them in there forever. I already think my 125g is too small for my Tangs.

Heres an old picture of the 2.

It's not a matter of how many gallons your tank is as. I find it better to go by having at least a 4' tank that's 18'' wide.

i have a 46 gal with a blue and yellow tang, they get along well, i going to enjoy them and when they get bigger i will give them away or get a bigger tank, i say go for it, qt them and enjoy them, good luck. btw heres a photo of the little buggers

I have a yellow and a sailfin in a 120g - 4' long tank. The yellow is about 4" long and the sailfin is about 2". They are fine for now but I know I will have to give them up in the future. Even at this stage I can see that the yellow would do better in a 6' long tank. They like to swim and a longer tank would be better for him.
