Yellow toadstool with no PE......

Purchased from LFS about 2 weeks ago... Had nice PE at LFS...... Brought it home, acclimated (2 hr), had to "swish" it because it got pretty mucous-y in transport....... It's been in my main display and has NO PE at all..... Looks like a small area or two is turning greyish...... Water Paramaters are good, coral is semi shaded about halfway up the tank. All the other corals, other leathers (toadstools also) are looking great with full PE...... It doesn't show any indication of shedding its skin, but the color is fading and no PE....... Any ideas ??????

Bright yellow leathers usually come from fairly shallow water where they get bright light and strong water flow. They are generally considered to be the exception to the idea that toadstools are hardy corals; theyre prone to infections and meltdown. If any areas are turning grey or white, I would suggest getting a blade and cutting those areas off to cut back on the risk of infection spreading to the rest of the coral.
Yellow Leathers also tend to take a while to adjust to a new tank, even if everything is perfect, so hopefully it will just be a matter of time before it settles in and gives you better extension.
