Yellow Watchman Goby behavior

I've had a Yellow Watchman Goby and Pistol Shrimp pair for over a year. The Goby normally stays very close to his shrimp and burro. The last couple of days he has been out and about and is swimming all over the tank. Mainly from top to bottom. This is the first time the goby has done this since i've had him. No signs of ich or parasites. Not sure if this is normal behavior, or if the goby is on his way out to goby heaven. Any thoughts?

Maybe he's finally comfortable? Is the shrimp still around?

I have a YWG and pistol shrimp, too. They also stay very close to their holes. (They've got a few.) I came home early one day because I was sick, and that YWG was all over the tank and bolted for his hole as soon as he realized I was home. Only time I've seen him more than an inch from his holes.

Thank you everyone for responding. He acted crazy for 3 days and everything is back to normal. I was really concerned as my other fish weren't used to seeing the Goby and were picking on him big time.
