Yellow Watchman Goby

I have a yellow watchman goby who is very happy, eating well, but one of his gills is going white.

Does anyone have any ideas what this is?

I have taken photos (good side and bad side) which I will try and upload but I'm a bit rubbish at it so it may take a couple of goes!!!!

I have lots of quite large corals"¦.

Trachy, plate, bubble, duncan, grape, sun, cataphyllia, finger - so he could have got stung. It is being cleaned by the cleaner shrimp so I'll keep an eye - he is eating well.

I've also got a fox face rabbitfish that is getting marks on his side - perfect round circles about 1/2 centimetre across - they stay on his side a few days then disappear - are these stings from coral?

Yep, that's what it sounds like to me. Also I think Humblefish is right, it could be getting infected. If they are both eating good I would keep feeding high quality food, maybe add some vitamins(Selcon, etc) and just watch them:)

Sounds like a bite mark. What other fish are in the tank?

Fish in the tank....

Sailfin Tang
Clown
Foxface Rabbitfish
Firefish
Cardinal
Flymo Blenny
Goldfish
Blue Cheek Goby
Watchman Goby
False Gramma
Chromis

All in 180 gallon.

Did try to stock peaceful community fish - could one of these be biting??

My yellow watchman had a mark identical to yours, after a couple week it healed up on its own. I wouldn't be to worried about it unless it starts to get bigger.

Could have been the blenny...they can be ornery at times. My tailspot will dart at my foxface from time to time.
