yellowish band around mantle of new maxima

i rescued a maxima from a tank that was being dismantled after the halides were left on for 3 days straight, overheating the tank and killing several of the owners prized acros.

the clam is about 3 inches long, and the coloration is purple/brown with blue spots along the edge of the mantle. the clam has been in my tank for about a week.

today i noticed a pale yellowish band along the entire edge of the mantle, approximately 1/8" wide. the clam is fully open, and has been since he went in my tank.

i am curious if anyone knows what could have caused this color shift. could this be the clams coloration changing to reflect a different light intake, or is this a sign of some sort of stress.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

any ideas? if it is dying or lacking something i want to take action to save it. i dont have access to a knop book here to look it up myself.

i have a crocea that was really dull when i got it. (it was under very poor lighting) when i put it under my own lights it began to get very colorful and deep blues and greens really came out. i dont know if this is the same thing but it seems as though clams can get alot more colorful.
