Looks like the beginnings of ich. The reason for the yellowish color is the skin color of the fish.

refractometer, and i checked calibration on it 2mon ago or so when i bought it

i read fish can get bacterial infections easily while they are in hypo, could this be something of that sort?

1 other thing, i have a 3g tank above the QT with a dripper on it to maintain the sg.

try cupramine, it's healing my powder blue.
but I'll suggest you to search this forum to make sure to mix hypo + cupramine may be in different dosage.

I simply use normal sg + cupramine, and I'm pretty happt the result turn out.

How about some Formalin 3? I have some, but haven't used it.

I do hope your fish makes it, we lost ours the other day.

That comes under the heading of aquarium myth ;) However, fish that are in QT are already at a vulnerability to such things from the whole process that got them to your house, and that's something that would happen if you hypo'd or not.

Sounds like you have the QT set up very well to run Hypo. I'm going to suggest using Nitrofuran along with the hypo. It's a pretty heavy hitting antibiotic that will get the majority of bacterial problems, and it also is effective against some protozoans. Makes for a heavy hitting shot gun approach that is also well tolerated by the fish.

I don't have any experience to formalin, but as mentioned, I'm using cupramine from seachem with normal sg, and it turns out pretty well actually.

I have tried hypo several times with no luck for the same fish and others. What worked well for me believe it or not was standard salinity dosing kick ich. Had to QT a PBT for almost 2 months to clear it up. What sucked was when he hit the display he got ich again and caused a major problem and then died anyway. Tough fish to keep. Those spots look familiar to me... ich. I know its not supposed to survive during hypo but that sure looks like ich on a tang.

well the dots have now turned into a type of pit....

the lateral line is now kinda sunken in and right above his "knife thingy" is also kinda sunken in. follew by some more dots.

is this HLLE?

i wil try and get some more pics tomorrow but need to barrow the g/fs camera.
