Ive been feeding him algae. Nothing else. He is always hungry like he cant get enough, Is there something else I should be feeding him and how often should I put the algae in the tank for him??

My tang eats anything I put in the tank, along with the rest of the carnivores! I feed a mixture of spirolina enhanced brine, mysis, brine, and mega-marine frozen. I put a sheet of nori in about 3 times a week, but he doesn't really go for it anymore. He's the fattest tang I think I've ever seen!

I fed my tangs in my 135g(yellow,naso,kole,purple) Algae strips everyday (when it was gone, I reffiled it and had one clip on each side of the tank), I fed lettuce, brine, mysis, formula 1 and 2 flake, pellet, etc. They all ate great, little to NO aggression, and were fatties. My yellow tang went from a little bit bigger than a golf ball size to about softball size in less than 6 months. I also put in calurpa twice a week.

Sometimes New Life Spectrum pellet in the morning then mix of frozen brine and mysis soaked with selcon & vitachem at night. I put a quarter sheet of of nori in the tank everyday. They love the pellets as much as the frozen food.

Tangs grow very fast so when they are small they have very large appetites. I read in a reef ecology journal that most tangs in the wild get most of their growth in the first 2-3 years of their lives so keep em fed.
