how do you support the calcium need in a 10 gallon with more than 5 clams?

Right now, I'm trying to determine the Ca consuption, but until I can get a better idea I'm doing 5 gallon weekly water changes that has been buffered to 500 ppm Ca levels.

did you buy your harlequin shrimp seperatly or all together? our local guy says that you either need to get one, or a proven pair (which are like $80), and how's the pistol get along with the harleys and the other inverts?

btw, i'm assuming the mandarin is on frozen?

I bought them all seperately, 1 harlequin got pulled into the overflow box the other 2 are still in the display and getting along just fine. The pistol doesn't touch a thing and the peppermints (2 in the overflow and 1 in the display) don't bother anything except the one aptasia I got them for. :)

The mandarin is on flat worms right now. :D

Awesome. I can't wait to see this tank in another few months.

Me either. :D

how much were the harlequins around you, and what kinda starts are you feeding them, and how long did it take before they started feeding? i tried them once and had it die on me, so i've been a little lenient (sp) to start tryin' again

The Herlequins were 25 each, I've got them on Chocolate Chip Stars and the Asteria Stars that come in on rock... So far they go right for it and carry it around the tank with them. :D

holly shrimp.....that thing is a monster.....

They are pretty small right now, but hopefully they will grow into big monsters. :D

keep on feeding them the way you are...it will be sooner then later....so they drag left overs with them..that's got to be a funny thing to see. you should get a vid of that.
