I believe it to be another N. Wennerae; but, I would like to make sure.

Thanks!

Well I am going to have alot of time for this little guy. Just got back from my orthopedist and he went over my mri and I have a tear to my meniscus, a bad bone brise, and 2 fractures to the same bone so he said ill be off work till AT LEAST the end of the summer. I am now supposed to stay off my leg for another 2 weeks which then I will get another xray and then I will need surgery to scope out my knee somewhere down the road.

I just had meniscus repair done a week ago last Thursday

Was off my feet Thu/Fri - Hobbbling around with crutches Sat/Sun, Walking unassisted Monday

Still hurts a bit today, slight swelling and about 95% flexibility - Hae to start PT 2x week for a month

I didn't have the fractures you do, so you'll likely be laid up a bit more than I.

Good luck with the surgery! Watching your mantis is a great way to kill time!

I was walking on it with a limp for the past 4 days or so with hardly no pain but my leg is pretty unstable. He told me today to stay off it for another 2 weeks so we'll see how everything works out.

Dramatically OT, but the meniscus tear combined with the severe bruising and fracture almost certainly indicates an ACL injury as well...

Um... let's see here... Do stomatopods have knees??

Yeh I did get a little bit OT with the post but was just letting fuzzy know his mantis would be getting alt of attention over the next few months. MY parents are actually going to pick him up on Saturday when they drop me and my gf off at BWI for our trip to Tampa(yay for 90-100 degree weather and hobbling around on crutches) and take care of him while im gone. My tanks params have been good for about 10 days now so I tossed some Astraes(food) in for the mantis while I am gone and will do another water change on Friday. Dad is going to acclimate the mantis and check on the tanks for me daily and do a water change while I am gone just so I can be on the safe side.

But OT again, I was surprised when he said there was no sign of MCL or ACL tearing and he said he was surprised as well. He went through about 150 different shots of my knee so I am sure he would have caught it in one of them. The fractures werent found in my hospital xrays by my orthopedist or the hospital so I was shocked to find out I had 2 fractures(small) as well.

Just talked to the rents and they said the mantis is doing great and they think its ate 2 snails since ive been gone. They also said when they go over to check on it that it has been very active digging and kicking up sand. Ill post some tank shots when I get home from Tampa.

Good lord man, it looks like a monster Mantis beat the snot out of your leg. I hope it feels better than it looks.

Good to hear Chris...sounds like this mantis (as well at the one I shipped to Wisc) is picking up right where it left off in my tank ;) Hope your trip is going well.

Wrecked a bike on 4th of July. Slid in the gravel and ended up clipping a fire hydrant with the inside of my knee. My leg isnt bruised at all now but it is still pretty unstable. I am walking on it right now but I dont have full range of motion back yet. I go back in another month and they will evaluate if I need surgery or not but the orthopedist said I probably would.
