Yo dude. Looking good. Are those clowns a pair?

Or not yet?

I have plenty of nice shrooms for you...if you want them.

I also have plenty of those little red sps corals. Ian, what are they????

They are making babies all over my tank....the red sps coral that gave you a piece of the other day....

I can give you some if you want it, andy...

Yo nate....

Yep, those clowns are now a pair. They haven't mated yet.... no eggs or anything. But they definitely are a young pair...... the female spends alot of time in the GBTA and lets the male sleep near it and spend a little time in it. Other than that, they swim together alot and the female shows little bits of dominance, and the male does his little shaking submissive routine. All the signs of a developing pair.

If they were both female, one of them would be dead by now..... It was tough during the first couple days though.

I'll take whatever you have to share.... thanks man.

Thanks for the compliment sean_954 . It's coming along....

Beautiful Tank

Beautiful Tank

Hey Supercon71, Just found your thread and have enjoyed reading the progress of your tank....I wish you were closer to me would love to see it in real life (Beaufort, SC). I have a 90 gal given to me by the next door neighbor who didn't want to deal with the "headache" he says. It has a big fire shrimp and a fox face rabbit fish. So I eagerly took it and brought it to my house. What a chore. We saved a majority of the water, had to drain it completely to include the sand it was so heavy. We tried to use everything from the previous set up though everything was covered in algae water was crystal clear. We went through the green tank syndrome... Ran a magnum 350 with micron filter and skimmer, now water tests out prefect and I am really enjoying this so called "headache". How do you take such beautiful pics... Thanks, Kym
Check out my pics....

Thanks for the compliments, Kym

Part of what I enjoyed most about the whole thing was "project" nature of it all. My brothers and I sat down and just planned the whole thing over a long period of time (and more than a few beers). We took ideas that each of them had used with their reef tanks, tweaked them a bit and then put it into a plan for for this tank. Researching the best tank, the best way and place to build it, and the best equipment (by "best" I mean what was best for my needs and budget)..... There was never any rush in it, as it was all about getting it done right and it being a continuing project.

This year the project continues as I hope to add a Tunze Osmolator ATO, maybe a Aqua Controller Jr or Reef Keeper 2 (or elite), and upgraded bulbs (2 DE AB 13K MH with 4 G-man actinic and super actinics). Maybe even a calcium reactor/kalk reactor.....

The tank has grown so much since my last update..... with great chaeto and coral growth. No major issues, all parameters in good check.... just fun watching it "grow".

I looked at all your pics..... are they the most recent? Would love to see more on the status and growth of your tank.

As far as how I take my pics goes, I use a Nikon D80 SLR with a tripod, and all pumps/powerheads shut down while I take the picture. I fiddle around with the settings till I find something that works. Let me tell you this though, for the 10 pictures I post up I've actually trashed about 25 ;) Glad you enjoyed them!

Nate...the red coral you have is a Montipora digi and would probly love andy's tank. That peice you gave me is doing great and already showing some growth.
